Q1. Are there any registration fees?

A. Registration is completely free. We feel that it is unfair to turn people away from uploading their personal details, note the Facebook and LinkedIn models. There are paid enhancements available for those wishing to pay and push their profile forward. Click here for further information.

Q2. I didn't receive an activation email.

A. Please be patient as email traffic can sometimes take a few minutes to get through. If you still haven't received your activation email check your spam filter; our emails sometimes end up in there. If you still haven't got the email contact [email protected]. You should also add [email protected] to your safe senders list (see below).

Q3. How do I add [email protected] to my safe senders list?

A. Internet service providers, e-mail services and IT departments all work hard to protect you from horrible spam, yet this means sometimes e-mails you actually want get lost too. Put [email protected] in your 'safe sender' list. You may also want to put the domain Productionwizard.com in the list.

Open up our email and click on the 'Safe Lists' icon and choose 'Add Sender to Safe Senders List'.

Outlook 2003

1. Open up our email and place your mouse over [email protected] in the From: email address field.

2. From the drop down menu that appears, click on 'Add to Outlook Contacts'. When the Contact window appears click on 'Save and Close'.

Yahoo

1. Click on 'Add to Address'.

2. When the window opens click on 'Add to Address Book'.

Hotmail

1. Click on the 'Save Address' button.

2. Once the 'Add' window opens click on 'OK'.

Q4. What other steps should I take to ensure I receive Production Wizard emails?

Your anti-spam software

Anti-spam software - if you have anti-spam software running on your machine such as Norton or Spam Assassin, add our e-mail address [email protected] and our domain Productionwizard.com to the safe sender list.

Your IT Department or ISP (internet service provider)

If you are still struggling, the chances are your IT department or your ISP is blocking our email before it even gets near your machine. Please advise us, your ISP and IT department to allow e-mails to come through to you from [email protected] and from our IP address 213.165.83.62. This is called 'white-listing'. If you aren't getting the e-mail, thousands of other Production Wizard users will be missing out too, so please make the effort.

If all else fails get a new e-mail address

We recommend gmail, as it offers big storage and so far we've had no complaints from gmail users that they don't receive the e-mail.

Q5. I can't remember my password.

A. If you have forgotten your password click the 'Forgotten password' link (top right) on the Production Wizard homepage, and it will be mailed to you.

Q6. Can I delete my account?

A. No, you will need to contact [email protected] and we will delete it for you. However, if you just wish to suspend your account and stop receiving email alerts temporarily then this can be done through My Account in the top-right and you can edit under Email Settings.

Q7. Can I upload my CV?

A. Yes, you can use the Documents section of your profile to upload your CV. The Documents section of your profile will be editable once you have created your basic Profile with your contact information and Service. Remember - you are more likely to attract attention to your CV by having a complete and up-to-date profile that grabs the attention of companies looking to hire, so make sure you have your credits up-to-date, your Service(s) and Location(s) set up, and a punchy overview section to push forward your profile.

Q8. How do I edit my profile?

Simply login and select My Profile from the menu bar and then click on the 'Edit My Profile' button. Once you have completed your amendments, click on 'Save Changes'.

Q9. What format should I use for my Profile Picture?

A. Please select your image carefully; .jpg or .gif are the best formats. The image will be rescaled (but in proportion) to 95px × 71px so ideally it should be no larger than 100 pixels wide to start with.

Q10. How do I set a Service Location?

A. Start typing your desired town, city, country or continent in the Services tab and in the Service areas box. After three characters you will see a list of locations matching your search terms. Continue typing to narrow the list or use the down arrow/ mouse to select your location. You can select a specific place or a wider region such as France, Europe or World.

Q11. I don't see my Service(s) listed when I try to register. What should I do?

A. Please email [email protected] and tell us the name of the service and under what heading (e.g. Design, Post Production etc.) it should appear and we will endeavour to get it added to the site.

Q12. How do I search for jobs?

A. If you are logged in then you can search for jobs under the Jobs Board tab where youll find both a Search Jobs Board and a Filter Jobs Board box on the left-hand-side. Advances search functionality means that you can search by Service and Location.

You can also use the search the Jobs Board when logged out but not all information is given.

Q13. I wish to apply for a Job but cannot see the full information even though I am logged in. What am I doing wrong?

A. You aren't doing anything wrong. Production Wizard is set up so that you can only see the full job listing if your service(s) and location(s) match those of the job request. For instance, if there was a job requesting a DV Camera Operator in London you would need to have this service added under the 'Services' tab. You would not be able to apply for the job if you were only registered as a Camera Operator. The Location field for this service would also need to cover London, i.e. specify London, UK, Europe or the World.

If you follow these steps and login you will see the job listed on your homepage underneath Job Updates. You can also click on Jobs Board and view the Recommended Jobs tab on the left-hand-side.

Q14. If I place a job request do I have to pay?

A. No, the system is free to anyone placing a project request. Its also free for anyone to quote for a project.

Q15. What happens once I have made a project live?

A. Members in the geographical area that you have selected are alerted via e-mail and are invited to quote for your project or express interest.

Q16. Can a live project be cancelled?

A. Yes, a project can be deleted via the Delete button in the My Jobs tab under Posted Jobs.

Q17. Can I view the project results before the quotation deadline has expired?

A. Yes, you can view responses as and when they come in. Each quote will generate an email advising that a quote has been placed on the system.

Q18. What happens once the project has expired?

A. You will still be able to view an expired project as Production Wizard cleverly stores your projects in My Jobs under Job Archive. This way you can keep a record of who you hired and how much you paid them.

Q19. Is there a limit on how many projects I can have live at any one time?

A. No, there is currently no set limit.

Q20. How do I search for Suppliers?

A. When logged in you will be able to search for a supplier in the Directory by name, service or location using the keyword search. You can also use the Search box on the home page if you are not logged in.

Q21. How do I create My Network?

A. The My Network tool allows you to create and store your private network online. Inside you can create bespoke groups to suit your list of industry contacts, based on service, location or pending suppliers. And because your suppliers are online with Production Wizard and monitor their own profiles, there is no need for your contacts to ever be out of date.

Q22. What are the Nudge and Express Interest features?

A. You can nudge a company you'd like to work for by using the nudge button. This is like an online version of submitting a CV as your profile will appear to companies and list you in a pending supplier list. The company can then view your information and decide whether they would like to respond. You can also express interest in certain jobs that are posted to a private network; this again puts you in front of companies as a possible contender.

Q23. Who can see the notes I attach to profiles?

A. You have the option of making notes about other Production Wizard users and saving it for future reference. For most users, the note will be saved for "Me", meaning that only you will ever be able to see that particular note. For users whos accounts are attached to a Production Wizard Company Account, you will also have the option of leaving a note for the company. In this case, the note you leave will be viewable by any current members of that particular Production Wizard Company Account. You will be able to view this note while you are listed as a Company Member, though when a user is removed from a Company account, they will no longer have access to notes left for a company, so it may be worth adding a copy of the note with the "Me" radio button selected. Always remember to be nice, and not leave any notes that could be considered offensive or defamatory, and be aware of any freedom of information considerations or company policies whenever you leave a note about another user. .

Q24. Tell me more about the Production Wizard Premium Company Account?

A. Our Premium sharing account allows companies to share key day-to-day time-saving features between colleagues. Specifically:

- Preferred Supplier Network - highly targeted crewing-up, banishing the blizzard of calls and emails.

- Note sharing & job archive - providing crucial information about your supplier network, available 24/7 to your team.

- Shared job posting - aligning your teams activities and work-flow when crewing up.

- Pending Suppliers List - the smarter way to manage the influx of candidates (CVs) and grow your talent network.

- Professional Company Profile - promote your company's skills and attract the best talent.

Q25. Tell me more about the Production Wizard PRO Account?

A. Upgrading your account to PRO delivers a host of networking and job finding benefits:

- An enhanced Profile - add an embedded show-reel and gallery to your profile. You can embed video already hosted on You tube, Vimeo and many other video hosting services.

- Stand out from the crowd - an automatic PRO label and shading in your Directory listing to really get you noticed.

- Networking - Nudge any company you want to work for, listed in the Directory, and be added automatically to their Pending Suppliers List. The production company can then review your profile and add you to their private Network.

To Nudge a production company, simply click through to their Company Profile and click the Nudge link on the top right hand side. You can link to a company's profile either from a job they have posted or in the All Companies section of the Directory.

- Apply for more jobs - PRO subscribers can Express Interest in jobs recommended to them, jobs that match their service and location but have only been sent to a company or individual's private network. PRO subscribers can express interest in an unlimited number of jobs, limited to one for basic subscribers.

To express interest in a job, just click through to the job details page and hit the Express Interest link on the top right hand side of he screen.

Q26. What is Front of Queue (FOQ)?

A. Front of Queue highlights your profile at the top of the Member Directory. Display is based on your services/locations and keywords. Sign-up to increase your exposure and make sure that you can be found by the right people every time.

Q27. Does Production Wizard have any jobs going?

A. No, Production Wizard is not a job agency. We are a means by which Film & TV industry bookers are put in touch with freelancers and service providers to fulfil their production needs. However, we are always looking for good people to join our team (web development, project management, marketing and sales), so please do send us a CV if you think you could make a difference.

Q28. How do I cancel my subscription if I need to?

A. We really hope you won't want to cancel your subscription but understand that sometimes things need to change. If you do need to cancel any subscription, PRO, Front of Queue or Premium, the fastest way to do this is to log into the Paypal account you used to set up the subscription and cancel the Payment Profile. This will cancel all future payments to Productionwizard.com. If you need any help with this please do contact customer service.
